The Press: Headline of the Week
From the New York Sun:
ROOSEVELT SAW DEATH POSSIBLE
Oops
It was buried on page 3 of the New York World-Telegram, but it was obviously the story of the week. The dispatch, datelined Montclair, N.J., reported that a 66-year-old New Jersey banker was abed with the mumps. He had, said the Telly, "contracted the mumps from his grandfather."
Readers who called up the World-Telegram, agog to know how old the banker's grandfather was and how his mumps were getting along, got a red-faced explanation. The Telly had meant to say grandson.
