The Press: Cheaper Cigarets
R. J. Reynolds cut the wholesale price of Camel cigarets last week. Immediately, Liggett & Myers did the same with Chesterfields, and American Tobacco with Lucky Strikes. Retailers who formerly paid 11.29 cents for a package of 20 cigarets now pay 10.58 cents. Retailers who before sold two packages for a quarter, now can sell two for 23 cents.
