Britons were triply warned last week not to assume that they would merely be spectators at the Invasion of Europe.

Said Prime Minister Winston Churchill: "We stand on the threshold of great and grave events."

Said Charles Urie Peat, Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply: "We may be subjected to counterattacks from the air and even by air borne troops on suicide missions."

Said Wing Commander Eric John Hodsoll, A.R.P. Inspector General: "Antigas precautions have been tightened up. The Germans will regard the interruption of our invasion operations as their first objective and might use any weapon."
