He expected about 300,000 to sell this year—nothing like the 1,000,000 sold to flappers and friends in 1925, but good as compared with the 40,000-to-60,000 average in the early '40s. One explanation for the demand: frog-voiced Arthur Godfrey's use of the uke on his television show.
