Radio: Fooling Wax

For a week or more before last week's invasion of the Philippines, U.S. war-casters in the Southwest Pacific gave their listeners nothing but recorded programs. Before leaving with U.S. forces for the Leyte landings, the war casters waxed plenty of broadcasts to be played after they had gone. Reason: to keep Japanese radio monitors from thinking that something was up.
