Sport: Poosh 'Em Up
The latest U.S. sport trophy, just put up for open competition, is a diamond-&-ruby-studded, gold-buckled belt. Bequeathed by the late Warren Lincoln Travis, onetime vaudeville strong man, the belt will be awarded to the Hercules who in 30 minutes can equal ten of the feats by which Travis originally won it (in 1906) in a contest sponsored by the Police Gazette. Some of the feats:
> While sitting, lift a 100-lb. bar bell from the floor with both hands and straighten arms overhead. Ten times in 30 seconds.
> With hands behind back, lift from the floor with teeth a 35O-lb. weight.
> With one finger, lift 350-lb. from the floor. Eight times in five seconds.
> Stoop over, have 3,660 Ib. attached to back, straighten up.
> Back lift, 2,000 Ib. 250 times in seven minutes.
At week's end, no challenger had appeared.
