National Affairs: U.S. WAR CASUALTIES
The Defense Department last week reported 3,128 more U.S. casualties in Korea. Though smaller than the previous week, it was the sixth largest weekly casualty list in a year of war and brought total U.S. losses to 75,428. The breakdown:
DEAD 12,670
WOUNDED 51,919
MISSING 10,680
CAPTURED 159
Total casualties by services: Army, 61,554; Marine Corps, 12,391; Navy, 857; Air Force, 626.
