Education: Draft Policy

From Washington last week, Selective Service Director Lewis B. Hershey sent a memo about college students to U.S. local draft boards. The policy of Selective Service, until further notice: to defer drafting students who 1) have had at least a year of college, 2) stood in the upper half of their class last year, and 3) signed up for more college before Aug. 1.
