Medicine: Be a Woman
A prescription to ward off death from coronary thrombosis (a blood clot in one of the arteries that supply the heart muscles) was offered last week by Dr. Donald D. Reid of London's School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine: "Don't be unduly upset by the risk of coronary disease; take the elementary precaution of being born a woman; don't become a doctor [because their coronary] death rate is 20% above the rest; live in the quiet of the country; avoid anxiety and overeating. In other words, laugh but don't grow fat."
