Japanese Peace Treaty Conference in San Francisco (Tues., all networks, radio & TV). The first coast-to-coast telecast over the American Telephone & Telegraph Co.'s new microwave relay project (TIME, Aug. 13). Conference highlights:

President Truman's address (Tues. 10:30 p.m.); the first regular conference session (Wed. i p.m.); the signing of the treaty.

TELEVISION

Meet the Press (Sun. 4 p.m., NBC). Britain's Anthony Eden faces Newsmen Marquis Childs, Alistair Cooke and Herbert Matthews.

Colgate Comedy Hour (Sun. 8 p.m., NBC). Jackie Gleason leads off a parade of comics returning for the fall season.

B. F. Goodrich Celebrity Time (Sun. 10 p.m., CBS). Variety show, featuring Binnie Barnes and Roddy McDowall.
