Radio: Writing on the Wall?

For a while last week, radiomen thought they saw the handwriting on the wall. For the first time in 24 years, CBS radio's Newscaster Lowell Thomas was without a sponsor, and another radio veteran, Let's Pretend, was dropped from the air after a run of 24 years as one of the most popular children's shows. But at week's end, the news was only half as bad: Delco Batteries announced that beginning next month, it would take over the sponsorship of Lowell Thomas.
