The rain check is on its way to being a collector's item in Houston. Harris County voters have just approved a $9.6 million supplementary bond issue, bringing to $24.6 million the funds raised to complete the world's first domed, air-conditioned outdoor sports stadium.
Scheduled to be ready in 1964, the stadium will seat 46,000 in plush bucket-type seats for baseball, 52,000 for football, and upwards of 65,000 for fights and conventions.
