Scoreboard: Who Won Apr. 8, 1966

> Boston: a 112-103 victory over Cincinnati in the semifinals of the National Basketball Association's Eastern Division playoffs, thereby keeping alive its chances for still another (its ninth) world championship; at the Boston Garden. Trailing the Royals 1-0 and 2-1 in the best-of-five series, the Celtics rebounded to win the last two games on the shooting of Sam Jones and John Havlicek, now take on Wilt Chamberlain and the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Division finals.

> Williamston Kid: the $123,400 Florida Derby for three-year-olds; at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Fla. A 90-1 long shot that had not won a race this year, Williamston Kid actually finished second, a neck behind Abe's Hope. But after 15 minutes of studying patrol films, the stewards disqualified Abe's Hope for interfering with another horse, and lucky bettors with tickets on the bay colt collected $183.60 for every $2.

> Jim Hurtubise, 33: the $77,000 Atlanta 500 stock car race, averaging 131.2 m.p.h. in his 1966 Plymouth; at Hampton, Ga. It was the first major victory in two years for Hurtubise, who narrowly escaped death in 1964 when his Indianapolis-type roadster crashed and caught fire during a race in Milwaukee—leaving him with three broken ribs, a punctured lung and serious burns over 40% of his body.

> Jean-Claude Killy, 22: the men's giant slalom in the international High Sierra ski cup races; at Heavenly Valley, Calif. Beaten by his French teammate, Georges Maudit, in another giant slalom race the day before, Killy zipped through the 57 gates in 1 min. 32 sec. to beat Maudit by 1 sec. Another French skier, Leo LaCroix, finished third, and the top American, California's Jimmy Heuga, wound up fourth.
