U.S. WAR CASUALTIES: National Affairs, Aug. 6, 1951
The Defense Department last week reported 577 more U.S. casualties in Korea, bringing total U.S. losses in 13 months of war to 78,381. The breakdown:

CAPTURED . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 159
Total casualties by services: Army, 63,940, Marine Corps, 12,860; Navy, 917; Air Force, 664.
