Education: A View of All the World

The "floating school" of Osa G. Candler, Jr., of Atlanta, son of the Coca-Cola king, has been realized. The transport "Logan," now known as the Candler Floating School, is to set sail Sept. 15, 1923, for a trip around the world to be completed June 10, 1924. It is to be a school for the children of the unfortunate rich. Mr. Candler states his position succinctly. The sons of the poor buckle down to work because they have no other interests. But the sons of the rich with their cars and their clubs have too many other things to do. The ocean offers their only hope. And on Mr. Candler's ship "they will see that they must concentrate on their studies." Mr. Candler's son is to go on the first cruise.

Ten thousand teachers assembled in Public Hall, Cleveland, for the annual conference of the National Education Association.
