Letters: Fairness To Leathernecks
The former service members who protested your cover showing a Marine with a blackened eye ((LETTERS, May 11)) wrote without any real thought. The illustration depicted a Marine with merely a black eye. And certainly the Marine Corps has suffered a black eye. As a veteran of four of the five services and as a retired minister of the gospel (which also has received a black eye from some TV evangelists), I felt the picture was quite appropriate to the incident.
