Fertility Fix-Up
Why does a woman's ability to conceive drop after 40? Worn-out eggs, suggests a new report in the Journal of the American Medical Association. For women over 40 receiving egg implants, pregnancy rates were lower when the eggs were their own than when the eggs were donated by someone younger. But women with donated eggs had about the same fertility whether they were older than 40 or not.
