Playing Post Office
The House post office was every Congressman's convenience store. Now the woman behind the counter, chief of staff Joanna O'Rourke, 52, has been indicted by a federal grand jury and charged with conspiring to use the mail service for "personal and campaign services." The indictment said O'Rourke, who plans to plead guilty to misdemeanor charges, had ordered employees to pick up and deliver campaign contributions and backdate postmarks on federal income-tax returns.
