HARVARD LAW SCHOOL DEAN ROBERT CLARK HAS CLAIMED THAT he's trying to bring diversity to Harvard. But Clark recently supported the drive to keep law professor CATHARINE MACKINNON off the faculty. MacKinnon is one of the most prominent feminist legal scholars in the country and something of a media star. In a secret faculty vote last month MacKinnon was denied a position at Harvard by a slim margin. MacKinnon's legal writings on pornography were criticized by some, and Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz also helped muster the opposition against her.
