Q&A Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore takes a break from the anguished-'50s-housewife role and stars as a love-lost lawyer in Laws of Attraction, opening this week.
Your character gets married on the second date, but in real life you married director Bart Freundlich last summer--after seven years of dating and two kids. Why the wait?
It's a big deal, getting married. For a while, it wasn't an issue. We were very committed. And then, once we had our second child, we just wanted to say, This is our family. This is who we are.
Will you do more romantic comedies?
I hope so. It's a very popular genre for a reason. It's incredibly relatable. Not many of us are going to climb a burning building to rescue people, but most of us are going to fall in love, and a lot of us are going to get married.
Your love interest is played by Pierce Brosnan. Must have been hard making out with someone so homely.
He's one of those guys who actually gets handsomer the more you know him because he is so nice. He is so polite--delightful.
Who's a better kisser, Pierce or Barbara Walters?
Well, I could shock the world and go with Barbara.
I think you just did.
