HOW DO YOU ANALYZE A PERFORMANCE AFTER A GAME? I nitpick everything. If I throw a three-hitter and give up one run, I'll be trying to figure out how and why that run came in. It's the only way I can play the game. The night after a win, there's about 30 minutes of pure ecstasy, and that's the 30 minutes you're in the clubhouse with your teammates. And that goes away when I leave the park because I'm trying to figure out what I can do better five days later.
THE WORLD SERIES COULD GO ON ALMOST INTO NOVEMBER. ISN'T THAT TOO LATE TO BE PLAYING BALL? It depends on whether we win or lose.
