Q. I noticed on my Census form that among the options for race is "Guamanian or Chamorro." What exactly is a Chamorro? I always thought it was that sugary dough stick they sell from sidewalk carts.

A. Actually, Chamorro are the indigenous people of the island of Guam. They make up almost half of the Guamanian population. The language of Guam is also called Chamorro. Those sugary dough sticks? They're called churros.
