THAT'S MY BOY

Political dynasties are nothing new, but these days elected offices seem to be replacing pocket watches as the heirloom of choice. Lifting a page from Dubya's book, some Dems have expressed a desire for their dad's old job.

BOB CLEMENT, member of Congress

Father: Frank Clement, TN Gov. (1953-59; 1963-67)

Dad Known For: Stem-winding oratory, religious fervor, knowing what the voters wanted

Lesson for Junior: Don't stray far from middle of the road

ANDREW CUOMO, former HUD secretary

Father: Mario Cuomo, NY Gov. (1983-95)

Dad Known For: Spellbinding oratory, liberal orthodoxy, Hamlet-esque indecision

Lesson for Junior: Try to speak at a party convention; be bold, be eloquent, be decisive

MARK PRYOR, state attorney general

Father: David Pryor, AR Senator (1979-97)

Dad Known For: Sensible oratory, defending Clinton

Lesson for Junior: None needed--he's a fifth-generation Arkansas politician. If they spell his name right on the ballot, he's golden
