constantly churning, producing more progeny virus which go on to produce
new infections. And this goes on relentlessly."

getting rid of this virus. But one should not think that this battle is
over, but progress is being made, and particularly recently."

"There's a lot of work that remains. Most important, I think, is in
the area of vaccine development. The therapies that we've been talking
about affect only a small percentage of the infected population --
worldwide, the large community of infected individuals will not be
affected by the therapies that we're talking about. And so the only
effective way to contain this epidemic is to do it by preventive
methods, through education and through the development of a protective
vaccine."
