O.J. Elaborates
O.J. Simpson said Thursday he was merely speaking hypothetically -- "as part of a scenario of things" -- when he told Esquire magazine that if he had killed his former wife, Nicole, he would have done it "because I loved her very much." Simpson, in a rare, live, broadcast interview, also told ESPN that the quote was taken out of context. He did quite clearly say on TV, however, "I look throughout history, and when I read the Bible -- from Moses to Jesus to whoever you want to name, Job -- they all went through similar things" that he, too, is going through. Furthermore, he claimed to be working with "volunteers" to find the killers of his ex-wife and her friend, Ron Goldman.
