ABORTION HITS 15-YEAR LOW

Abortion in the U.S. has dropped to its lowest level -- about 1.5 million -- since 1979 in a trend that researchers think won't end soon. The Alan Guttmacher Institute, a Planned Parenthood affiliate, speculates that the decline might follow a dip in the number of abortion providers and greater social acceptance of unwed mothers.
