Adopted teenagers are as happy and healthy as any other typical American adolescents, according to a recent study of 2,000 adoptive families. Effective parenting is being given much of the credit for the large number of well-adjusted adopted youths. The benefits of early placement are also stressed, as those adopted as infants tend to feel stronger ties with the parents who raised them.
