TEAM U.S.A. HEADS TO ROUND 2

The impossible happened during last night's match-up between Team U.S.A. and favored Colombia: for the first time since 1950 the Americans won a World Cup match. Their 2-1 victory was no fluke, since the Yanks dominated the field during the game, with the Colombian goal coming only in the last few minutes of play. The Americans win virtually ensures the team a berth in the second round, while the Colombians have no chance of advancing after suffering two losses. This afternoon, Italy topped Norway 1-0.
