The United Nations' health agency estimates the number of full-blown AIDS cases around the world rose from 2.5 million to 4 million during the past year. According to a new report from the World Health Organization, sub-Saharan Africa had the highest number of AIDS patients at 2.5 million, while cases in Asia spread eightfold, from 30,000 to 250,000--faster than anywhere else in the world.
