LISTENING IN ON JACK

The John F. Kennedy Library will release previously secret tape recordings of meetings between President Kennedy and his advisers during the height of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. The tapes, on which Kennedy weighs responses to the Soviet installation of missile sites in Cuba, run three hours. But they're not complete: 2 minutes have been excised for security reasons. About 200 more hours of classified tapes remain unreleased, even though some members of the Kennedy family have requested declassification.
