NETWATCH . . . BLACK AND PROUD IN CYBERSPACE
The first edition of the International Free Press, a monthly newsmagazine about the international black experience, was E-mailed to its first 500 subscribers in the wee hours of last night. Included in the first issue: the separating line between mosque and state in Egypt; the plight of visiting black soccer players in Germany; and how the Japanese media cover Africa. Canada-based publishing editor David Hosten works with free-lancers from around the world and relies on the Internet for economical distribution. To get a free subscription, E-mail Hosten at ao826@freenet.carleton.ca. Another freebie worth exploring for a glimpse of the black Internet experience: the Usenet newsgroup "soc.culture.african.american."
