ON THE EDGE OF DISASTER

The space shuttle Endeavor's launch was aborted 1.9 seconds before takeoff because a fuel pump overheated. The countdown had reached "one" and the engines had fired when on-board computers cut off the juice. This was the fifth launch pad abort in shuttle program history. Next try: about a month from now, after they figure out the problem, then fix it.
