HAITI . . . SECOND-CLASS PASSAGE

Exiled Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide lashed out against unequal U.S. treatment for Cuban and Haitian refugees, claiming that after equally perilous journeys, the former are welcomed while the latter are turned away from U.S. soil. It's true, actually. Some 15,000 restive Haitians are now penned up in a camp at the U.S. Naval base in Guantanamo, Cuba, while Cubans are staying in U.S. hotels and a transit center on the mainland.
