Blood found at the murder site matches that of O.J. Simpson, according to court papers filed by the prosecution that cite DNA test results. "This is the strongest evidence to date that O.J. Simpson committed these murders," saysTIME legal affairs reporter Andrea Sachs.Two samples taken from a trail of blood leading away from the bodies of Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman went through a test known as PCR and showed a match with O.J.'s blood. One of the samples went through a more sophisticated test (said to establish a DNA "fingerprint") known as RFLP, which confirmed the first test.Still an open question: The California Supreme Court has not yet ruled on the admissibility of DNA evidence in state trials, says Vivian Berger, professor at Columbia law school.
