What Do You Think: Raising the Minimum Wage

Initiative: Minimum Wage

Number of States Voting: 6

Where: Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Ohio.

Proponents Say: Families cannot support themselves on wages as little as $5.15 per hour and the pay does not account for cost of living increases. A hike would raise income levels and living standards for millions of people

Opponents Say: If wages go up, those prices will be passed on to the consumer. A hike in the minimum wage will hurt small businesses that cannot afford to pay more. States with a higher minimum wage would not be as attractive to businesses as states with a lower minimum wage.
