What Do You Think: Marijuana
Initiative: Legalization of Marijuana
Number of States Voting: 3
Where: Colorado, Nevada, South Dakota.
Proponents Say: Marijuana is far less dangerous than alcohol. Plus, through its sale, tax money could go toward drug education and general state revenue. Also, it has great benefit as a holistic medical alternative to ease chronic pain.
Opponents Say: Marijuana is a gateway to harder drugs. Little tax revenue would come from its regulated sale. Also minors would be able to access the drug from parents who either possess it legally or have it prescribed to them.
