BOSNIA . . . NATO STRIKES BACK
NATO warplanes bombed a Serb tank near Sarajevo, retaliating for a rocket attack on U.N. peacekeepers earlier today. Bosnian Serbs had fired on a U.N. tank operated by French soldiers, wounding one. Furious, U.N. troops asked for NATO's help for the second time in two months. U.S. and British warplanes then proceeded to strafe and bomb one Serb tank within a weapons-exclusion zone around Sarajevo. The exchange is just one sign of growing tensions in recent days, with both Muslims and Serbs violating U.N. mandates.
