O.J. SIMPSON . . . COMPELLING EVIDENCE IN DOUBT
Judge Lance Ito slammed the media for reporting that blood found on O.J. Simpson's sock matched that of Nicole Simpson. Ito was referring to a report last night on KNBC-TV that said DNA tests at a Maryland lab had provided this new link between Simpson and the bodies of his ex-wife and Ronald Goldman. But prosecutor Marcia Clark said today the sock hadn't even been sent to the lab. Both sides denied they leaked the information to the television station. "I'm so saturated by the irresponsibility of the media that I'm beyond being outraged," said the usually cool-headed Ito.A LITTLE-TOO-AGGRESSIVE INVESTIGATION? Investigators found themselves under attack by the defense for collecting more evidence from O.J. Simpson's estate than was mentioned in search warrants. Police searching Simpson's bedroom seized videotapes of his wedding and of his daughter's birth, along with a note that his ex-wife apparently wrote telling him never to talk to her again, a detective testified today.
