STUMPING FOR THE I.R.A.
Gerry Adams, president of Sinn Fein, the I.R.A.'s political arm, is making a repeat visit to the States, but the first since the I.R.A. declared a cease-fire on Aug. 30. His two-week tour includes stops in Washington; New York; San Francisco; Hartford, Connecticut; Detroit; Cleveland, Ohio; Philadelphia; and Los Angeles. The main item on his agenda? Winning support for an aid package that at least doubles the $20 million the U.S. annually gives to Ireland.
