O.J. SIMPSON . . . WITH A DEFENSE LIKE THIS . . .

A bitter breach between two of O.J. Simpson's celebrity defense attorneys has now become a public spectacle. Attorney Robert Shapiro and his former mentor, F. Lee Bailey, reportedly began feuding after Shapiro heard that Bailey has been giving journalists tidbits designed to denigrate Shapiro's legal skills. Now, the two refuse to be photographed together, ride in the same car or even speak, except on urgent legal matters in the case. Today, Bailey said he was "distressed" to see Shapiro "air his woes through the media." Shapiro, who has said before that he wants Bailey off the team, retorted: "We can't have snakes sleeping with us."
