WANTED -- LIBYAN LOCKERBIE SUSPECTS
The FBI added two Libyan intelligence officers charged in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland to its Ten Most Wanted list, promising a record $4 million reward for information leading to their capture and conviction. "We'll follow them to the ends of the world to bring them to court," Robert "Bear" Bryant, an assistant FBI director, told a news conference. The suspects, Abdel Basset Ali Al-Megrahi and Lamen Khalifa Fhimah, were charged in the U.S. and Scotland in 1991 with planting a suitcase bomb that killed all 270 people aboard 103. The FBI, which believes they've been hiding in Libya, says it will employ "innovative methods . . . to elicit the cooperation of the people of Libya and North Africa," including Internet queries and printing Arabic solicitations on matchbook covers in the region.
