. . . WHILE PETE WILSON MAKES A U-TURN

California Gov. Pete Wilsonhas reversed himself again on his willingness to press the GOP regarding the choice issue. Just yesterday, Wilson drew scathing criticism from both pro-choice groups and conservatives when his aides said the governor would not push to drop strictanti-abortion language from the Republican Party platform. In a statement today, the governor insisted that he would continue to call for removal of the language. But Wilson is not promising an aggressive campaign to delete the plank, as he did in July 1994,before he decided to run for president.
