AND THEN THERE WERE TWO
It's been a long wait -- 41 years, to be exact -- but the Cleveland Indians are on their way back to the World Series. The club got seven strong innings from 40-year-old Dennis Martinez in shutting out Seattle 4-0 to take the series 4-2 from the Mariners. Next up for Cleveland: an Atlanta Braves club led by three-time Cy Young winner Greg Maddux. "This will really be a fall classic," says sportswriter Steve Wulf. "It pits the great pitching of the Braves against the tremenous offensive power of the Indians lineup." Maddux will face Orel Hershiser, the AL championship series MVP, when the series begins on Saturday. The official Wulf forecast: "Braves in six."
