SNOWBOUND IN SARAJEVO
A foot of new snow fell on Sarajevo Tuesday night, slowing the delivery of U.S. troops and equipment to Bosnia. The first two of eight NATO transport flights scheduled to arrive in the Bosnian capital were delayed by bad weather, and some flights will probably be cancelled. In Tuzla, a U.S. Air Force C-130 transport became the first American aircraft to arrive in country as part of the NATO peacekeeping operation. Because of the poor condition of roads and bridges in the American peacekeeping sector in Bosnia, the airfield at Tuzla is expected to see heavy traffic in the next few months as the main entry point for U.S. troops and equipment.
