Clinton's Integration Plea

LITTLE ROCK: President Clinton Thursday paid tribute to the nine students who ran a gauntlet of violent bigotry to break the chains of segregation at Little Rock’s Central High School, saying they “gave up their innocence so that all good people could have a chance to live their dream.”

Clinton also urged the nation to stem the tide of resegregation, warning that “too many Americans have given up on the idea of integration and the search for common ground.”
