Baseball: Closers Nightmare
Maybe Jerry Reinsdorf knew what he was doing after all. White Sox fans were mortified when the team owner unloaded closer Roberto Hernandez on the San Francisco Giants for a song. But that was before Hernandez blew his second save in as many days, and the Giants lost once again to the Florida Marlins, this time by a 7-6 score. Meanwhile, the Braves used five Houston Astros pitchers for batting practice, and Baltimore once again dismantled the Big Unit and beat Seattle 9-3.
Tonight, two teams that have dominant closers (New York, Baltimore) take on two that don't (Cleveland, Seattle) but are glad they didn't answer Reinsdorf's phone calls this summer.
