After appearing in 1985's Witness and a series of other, more forgettable films (Anyone remember Texas Chain Saw Massacre III?), Mortensen was cast by Sean Penn to star in The Indian Runner, above, a film based on Bruce Springsteen's song, "Highway Patrolman," where he plays the outlaw brother Frank Roberts.
