Paramount's Kings Dominion in Virginia
celebrated the completion of Hypersonic XLC (Xtreme Launch Coaster)
in March. The experience is meant to simulate the feeling of acceleration
experienced by race car drivers. Passengers are seated in traditional
trains, but air pressure is used to launch them from zero to 80 mph
in 1.8 seconds.
