LYNDON B. JOHNSON, 1965: For the inauguration after Johnson's landslide victory, the motorcade up Pennsylvania Avenue reflected the harsh realities of the times. Johnson rode in a bulletproof, closed limousine, with Secret Service agents on the bumper, and stood behind bulletproof glass in an armored reviewing stand to watch the parade.
