Carrying a Torch
From Atlanta to New York City, the first leg of the Olympic Torch's journey was filled with familiar faces and poignant moments


Revolutionary War re-enactors transport Olympic Torch bearer Helen Leaman, of Malvern, Pa., across the Delaware River to New Jersey on Dec. 23, 2001. They are crossing near Trenton, N.J., where 225 years ago George Washington led his troops during a surprise attack on the British.
